La Pausa. The Ideal Mediterranean Villa of Gabrielle Chanel
A sumptuous book, documenting and celebrating the Mediterranean home of Gabrielle Chanel. Chanel began building La Pausa in 1929 as a retreat from Parisian life. The architecture and interiors reflected her design aesthetic and the house became a hub for her creative friends. Since 2015 the villa has been restored by the Chanel fashion house, overseen by the architect Peter Marino. This volume records La Pausa's history with sections on the French Riviera, the Villa and the Guests.
